Maritime Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

Helping to Reconcile People to God

Welcome

We are the Maritime Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.  As part of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist church, we operate churches throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.  We also operate supporting institutions including Sandy Lake Academy and Camp Pugwash.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Bible-believing Protestant church with approximately 20 million members worldwide.

Seventh-day Adventists accept the Holy Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We believe that God exists in the form of God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit: three distinctive members yet one God. We believe that salvation has been made possible to all people through Jesus Christ, God the Son.

Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby through a virgin-birth, lived a sinless life , died on a cross for the sins of the people of the world.  Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share. He suffered the death which was ours, that we might receive the life which was His.

Jesus rose from the dead and returned to Heaven and He sends us the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. We use the word "Adventist"  to describe ourselves because  we believe Jesus' promise that He will soon come again. Jesus is now preparing a place for us. He promised to return to earth a second time to take His people to heaven.

As Seventh-day Adventists, we believe that the seventh day of the week was set apart at the creation of the world as the Sabbath, a day of rest and worship.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus loves and accepts them.
